Abstract:

With water as dispersion medium, MoS2/resin hybrid coatings were prepared by electrochemical deposition on the magnesium alloy. Friction and wear properties of the film were investigated using MR-060 multifunctional friction and wear testing machine. The electrochemical performance of the coating was evaluated by PARSTAT2273 electrochemical workstation and surface morphologies were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The results show that the thickness of the film is up to 50 μm. MoS2 particles disperse pretty well in the matrix of resin and the MoS2/resin hybrid coating has very good corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It is a rather effective film with very good prospects for magnesium alloy.
