Abstract: Four kinds of corroded heat exchangers were performed in order to investigate the effects of salt spray corrosion on the airside pressure drop of copperfin heat exchangers. The performance on airside pressure drop of corroded and uncorroded heat exchangers were compared and analyzed under different Reynolds number. In order to analyze the effects of hydrophilicity on airside pressure drop, the static contact angle and dynamic contact angle of the copper fins were also tested. The experimental results indicate that, with the increase of salt spray hours, the static contact angle and dynamic contact angle of the fins increase, the airside pressure drop increases, and the friction factor decreases. The airside pressure drop increases by 17.5%~21.6% at most when the air velocity is 0.5~2.0 m/s.
