Abstract: In order to solve the existence of nonlinear factors in the system matrices of the existed state space model, a linear state space model which depicts the propagation of products’ dimensional variation in multistation manufacturing systems was given through homogeneous transform method used for coordinate transform from part coordinate to machine coordinate and linearization of the system matrices based on the definitions of part model, part variation and coordinate systems of part, fixture and machine. The linear inputoutput form of the derived model enhances the existed model’s usability and effectiveness, practicality of the derived model is also verified by a case study.
