Linear Modeling and Control of Dimensional Variation in MultiStation Manufacturing System R

Abstract: In order to solve the existence of nonlinear factors in the system matrices of the existed state space model, a linear state space model which depicts the propagation of products’ dimensional variation in multistation manufacturing systems was given through homogeneous transform method used for coordinate transform from part coordinate to machine coordinate and linearization of the system matrices based on the definitions of part model, part variation and coordinate systems of part, fixture and machine. The linear inputoutput form of the derived model enhances the existed model’s usability and effectiveness, practicality of the derived model is also verified by a case study.
