Abstract:

A lap-shear test was conducted to obtain the shear property of the polymer layer in a laminated steel sheet, and shear strength was acquired as 10.64 MPa. A clamp mould was designed to make samples for normal tensile tests so as to get the normal property data of the polymer layer because of the engendered defects of T-peel test applied, and the tensile strength was obtained as 13.04 MPa. The viscosity of the polymer layer was investigated by examining the variation with time of bent angles of laminated steel sheet samples acquired from the V-bending experiment. It was shown that the viscosity of the polymer layer was not significant. The experiment results will be conducive to future numerical parametric analysis of influencing factors on bending and springback of the laminated steel sheet.
