Abstract: The technological process of double grinding circuits with a spiral classifier is common in Chinese concentration industry. This paper studied on the hydrocyclone mechanism model for such grinding/classification process. First, the grinding process is analyzed, the main variables of the process is determined by principal component analysis. Second, the hydrocyclone mechanism model is established and the model parameters are decided by rulebased reasoning. With production data of the grinding/classification process of a concentration plant, the simulation experiments prove that the dynamics from simulation result of the model in this paper are the same with them of real values. The model is effective for grinding hydrocyclone, which solves the simulation problem of hydrocyclone and provides a suitable dynamic model for grinding research.
