Abstract: For fault detection and diagnosis (FDD), three different models to calculate airside heat transfer were analyzed, taking into account the influencing factors and the structures. Meanwhile, experiments were developed to validate and make comparison among the three models. The results show that Lin G G model is not suitable for the modeling applications in FDD because of its nonmonotonic characteristics, while the other two (J model and turbulence tube bundle model) are suitable with J model the most accurate.

Key words: refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, fault detection and diagnosis (FDD), heat transfer model, heat transfer coefficient
