Inclination Sensing Characteristic Using Magnetic Fluids

Abstract:

This paper focused on the research of static inclination measurement using magnetic fluids. First, the force analysis was performed when the magnetic fluid drop was in the symmetrical gradient magnetic field to explore the inclination measurement principle. Then, the circuit for sense and signal process was designed and a test bench was built to measure the sensibility, the range and the resolution. Finally, some factors that affect the uncertainty of the sensor were discussed. The test results verify the validity of magnetic fluid drop as transducing function mediums, which lays a foundation for the sensing and actuating devices.
