Abstract:

The stator with different lean angles was acoustically tested at design condition to get the free field noise spectrum. Besides, the broadband and tone part were extracted from the spectrum. Then, the stator with three lean angles was employed for numerical study to obtain the  wake evolution of the rotor and the RMS pressure at the  surface of the rotor. The results indicate that the stator with different lean angles can change the phase of the wake of the rotor. The first harmonic of tone noise causes the difference in the total SPL, and the stator with the backward lean angle has a better tone noise reduction effect than the  forward one both for the tone SPL and total SPL.
