Abstract: To solve the radio frequency identification(RFID) positioning problem, reader antennas’ layout and a growth ring probability model were established. Then, a growth ring positioning algorithm which uses Kp modification and double-tags-edge-revising was proposed to realize accurate positioning. The experimental results show that, compared to the proximity algorithm, the overlapped growth ring passive RFID positioning algorithm decreases the positioning error by 33.929% and the cumulative probability function of positioning error reaches high probability values faster.
