Abstract: Combined with a practical engineering example, the causes of deviation and fracture on prestressed highintensity concrete (PHC) pipes and prefabricated square piles were analyzed on condition of deep and soft soil foundation in Shanghai. Some causes, such as geologic site condition, engineering characteristics of prefabricated pile, construction technology and excavation, were discussed. In addition, the measures that core grouted and anchor static pressure pile to remedy the kind of accidents were also presented from the aspects of design and construction.

Key words:  deep and soft soil foundation, prestressed high-intensity concrete (PHC) pipe, prefabricated square pile, core grouted
