Greedy Antenna Selection Algorithm for MIMO Relay System

Abstract:  To improve the capacity of multi-input multi-output (MIMO) relay systems with relay selection, a greedy capacity maximization antenna selection algorithm was proposed. By taking noise at relay nodes into account, the proposed algorithm selects the backward and forward sub-channel gradually according to the closed form expression of capacity when one more antenna pair is added. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing selection algorithms in terms of ergodic capacity.
