Abstract: The remote power feeding system is one of the core technologies of the deep seafloor observatory network, it is necessary to analyze the reliability of this system. An equivalent circuit model which includes the values for long distance submarine cable resistance, inductance and capacitance was established, five different failures of the power feeding system were summed up, and the data comes from professional simulation software. The results show that the system can work stably to keep the characters of series connection and constant current. It is proved that this system has high reliability and can be used in the deep seafloor observatory network.

Key words: remote power feeding, series connection, constant current, underwater power-branching unit, reliability
