A Multiuser Scheduling Algorithm for MIMO Broadcast Channels with Limited Feedback

Abstract: This paper addresses the issue of multiuser scheduling with limited feedback in MIMO broadcast channels. A new user selection algorithm was proposed. In order to exploit multiuser diversity, users feedback the estimation of the available transmit rates as well as the channel directional information. At first, the transmitter divides all the codewords into groups according to their crosscorrelation coefficients. When scheduling, the users are assigned to different groups corresponding to different code regions and then the active user group is selected among the groups. Simulation results show that the presented algorithm can achieve good sumrate performance and obtain the optimal multiuser diversity, with low computational complexity.
