Abstract: Due to its great potential in military reconnaissance and civil search, much attention is paid to moving-target detection in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging. This paper reviews the methods in this field from three aspects: moving-target detection based on single-channel SAR, moving-target detection based on multiple-channel SAR, and velocity estimation of moving targets based on SAR, and introduces the significant progress made by our team in this filed recently.

Key words: synthetic aperture radar (SAR), ground-moving-target indication (GMTI), difference between looks, along-track interferometry (ATI), displaced-phase-centroid antenna (DPCA), space-time adaptive processing (STAP)
