Abstract: Design of an active integrated antenna with transmit/receive switch and low-noise amplifier was proposed. The transmit/receive switch is based on PIN diodes, and uses asymmetric topologies and impedance transformation networks to achieve low insertion loss and high transceiver isolation. By collaborative design of the antenna, transmit/receive switch and low-noise amplifier (LNA), the matching network between the antenna and transmit/receive switch is eliminated, and the design of matching network between transmit/receive switch and LNA is simplified. The measured and simulated results are basically consistent. In the range of 7.8—8.1GHz, the active integrated antenna achieves good performance and is with a compact size.
