Abstract

A dual-transformer series resonant converter (DTSRC) is presented to enhance operating efficiency and widen soft-switching ranges. The dual-transformer structure is employed on the proposed converter, which can significantly reduce voltage stress across the transformers. Additionally, ZVS operation under light-load conditions is achieved and switching loss is minimized by designing the turns ratio coefficient k. To eliminate backflow power and reduce conduction loss, a minimum current trajectory (MCT) control strategy is implemented for DTSRC. Thus, synchronous rectification is realized on the secondary side, which makes the converter always operate with minimum current. Experimental results demonstrate that ZVS of all active switches is achieved during full power ranges. The operating efficiency of DTSRC is greatly improved.
