Abstract:  The local buckling near the surface of piezoelectric-magnetic laminated shells under electric, magnetic and thermal loads was investigated by energy methods. Based on the theory of composite laminated shell and considering the effects of electric, magnetic and thermal loads, the calculation formula of the total potential energy and the local buckling equation were derived by using the constitutive relationship. Here, the transverse displacement of sublaminated shell is considered to set up the local buckling models of the sub-laminated shell. The effects of temperature change, magnetic loading, electric loading and the parameters of geometry and physics on the local buckling critical strain were described and discussed.
