Deviation of Light Spot in Rotationally Symmetric Triangulation Sensor

Abstract: To illustrate the effect of the deviation of the spot in a rotational symmetric triangulation sensor, the model of the relation between the radius of the ring in the image and the deviation of the spot was built. Based on the model, the average radius of the ring with different deviations of the spot was estimated, and the change of the ray in direction was also discussed. The experimental results agree well with the theoretical results. Therefore, the model can be used as a useful tool for the design, optimization and manufacture of the sensor.
