Robust Autopilot Design for Airtoair Missile Using μ Synthesis

Abstract: In missile autopilot design process, parameter uncertainties, unmodeled dynamics and external disturbances can be considered by using μ synthesis, so better robustness can be achieved, while using traditional classical controller, it can only do robustness validation. Compared to other robust control theory, both robust stability and robust performance can be designed by using μ synthesis. In this paper, the uncertainty and disturbance model were built, the three channels robust autopilot control law for an example missile was designed, including coupling effect of each channel. The simulations show that the control system meets the requirements of control performances and reaches good robustness.
