Model Predictive Controller Design for Electromagnetic Active Suspension

Abstract: For the developed electromagnetic actuator prototype, the range of control current during the stroke of actuator was derived through analysis of simplified circuit control model. Based on model predictive control methodology, an active suspension controller was designed, which could take into account the constraints of actuator and quarter vehicle. The simulation results indicate that, under the condition of vertical shock and random uneven road, the model predictive controller can obtain better ride comfort than linear optimal control.
