Abstract: To simulate the lunar rover traveling on lunar environment, virtual reality technology was used to create a lunar rover simulation environment, and in the environment a sixwheeled lunar rover’s physical model was set up, a numerical method was given to solve the physical model. Thus, the rover’s movement performance analysis was achieved by running the virtual sixwheeled lunar rover on the virtual moon’s surface environments. By comparing the real lunar rover prototype test results and simulation test results, the effectiveness of the virtual simulation was verified. The high fidelity simulation of lunar rover brings an effective auxiliary tool for its design.
