Speed Planning and Segment Connection in High Speed Machining

Abstract: A speed planning method was presented in high speed machining of complex shape parts. After lookahead process, a time division based acceleration/deceleration interpolation algorithm is used to implement discrete speed control. Computational error caused by noncontinuity is eliminated by deceleration phase compensation and smooth connection processing between segments. The experiment shows that the proposed algorithm satisfies the requirements of interpolation accuracy and machining efficiency in high speed machining.
