Application of Near Space Solar Powered UAV in Modern War

Abstract  
Near space solar powered UAV has the advantages of long flight time and high flight altitude. It can effectively fill the gaps of tasks in the near space region and improve the spatial information grid. At present, military powers such as Europe and America are carrying out the high-altitude pseudosatellite projects based on near space solar powered UAV. First, this paper introduces the development status of solar powered UAV, and puts forward four potential military application scenarios by analyzing its characteristics. Finally, the key technologies of near space solar powered UAV are discussed to offer support for the follow-up development.
