Taking the cell biology and genetics laboratory of biological experimental teaching center of Nankai University as an example, the paper searches the application of “Area Functionalization” idea in the management of teaching laboratory for undergraduates. On the basis of the contents of teaching and the nature of instruments, authors' laboratory was divided into several areas, such as cell culturing, microscopic observation, refrigerated centrifuge, the preparation of reagent solution, the operation area of ordinary experiment and so on. So it can complete several experiment teaching contents in the limited space.
