Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is an open access journal and applies the Creative Commons Attribution- 4.0 International License CC (CC-BY) to all papers. All articles published will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download.

The journal adopts Creative Commons license, and allows authors to grant any third party the right to use, distribute and reproduce the article in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. The author has all rights given by CC BY.
To support open access publishing, the journal will charge an open access fee (APC) of RMB 300 per printed page and an article reviewing fee of RMB 300 per article.
From 2024, the publication fee will be adjusted to 500 CNY per printed page.
